Mason's letter to Mom and Dad:
Dear Mom and Dad,
For future reference I do not enjoy being dressed up and taken out to a strange place and then expected to sit on the lap of a complete stranger who is dressed in funny clothes and has a long beard. I'm very happy that Grandma was there to save me and I would have much preferred going to her house to play.
Thank you for thinking I would enjoy this event and even capturing it on film. I expect that there will be a reward for my good behavior later, like a present from this Santa person under the Christmas tree (that Daddy put up this weekend).
Love you anyway,
Mason

First Birthday and Happy Birthday Daddy
We can't believe that Mason turned ONE year old on Sunday, December 7. His first birthday party was on Saturday and it was an Animal Safari/Wild Kingdom theme. Mom didn't do a very good job taking pictures of all the decorations, but Mason did get a cool Lion balloon and #1 balloon. Lots of friends and family came to the party and it was fun to watch all the kids play together. Mason loved all of his gifts and is having a great time with all the toys and will look great in his new clothes! Thank you!!!
Happy Birthday today to Daddy!!!
Here are some pictures from the party and of Mason and his friend Douglas playing together.

First Thanksgiving
Mason has had a great November. He is growing like crazy and eating lots of snacks at school! They have started to let him sit at the big kids table for his late afternoon snack, he looks like such a big boy and loves to sit there...as long as there are crackers!
He spent his first Thanksgiving playing in the tub - which he loves again and will even bathe by himself. For a while Daddy had to get in and play boats with him.
We went to Aunt Lee's for dinner where Mason had a great dinner of sweet potatoes, turkey, rutabaga (yes he loved it), and mashed potatoes. Mommy and Daddy ate a lot more though! Everything was delicious and Mason loved crawling around Aunt Lee's house and playing with Gordie, Grandpa, and Grandma. We think Mason's favorite part of the evening was giving himself High 5's in Aunt Lee's big mirror!!! He likes to say "weeee" now which is more like "eeeeee".
Mason survived shopping on Black Friday with Mom and Dad and got a bunch of new clothes. He even helped Daddy pick out some new shoes...Dad is teaching him early about fine footwear.
Next weekend is Mason's big day - he turns ONE on Sunday, December 7 :-)
Here are some pics from November and a video of Mason giving himself High 5's.

Halloween and It's a Girl!!
Mason's first halloween was lots of fun. He hopped on over to Daddy's school for lunch (he was a kangaroo) and then went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to see Aunt Lee and have dinner and trick-or-treat. He had a great time visiting the Thompsons and wiping melted chocolate onto Mr. Greg...ooops, luckily he was a good sport. We didn't get a picture of Mason with Meaghan, but we will next time!!
Other news is that we had our big ultrasound and everything looks good. The baby GIRL is growing well and weighs about 8 oz. We tried to figure out how big that is and we think about the size of a fist. The technician said her femur is about 2.5 cm if that gives you any ideas of how big she is now.
Mason had a great weekend riding his first little bike and playing catch with Mom and Dad. He had his first flu shot and didn't even cry, what a trooper. He is crawling a lot more and loves to play in our newly organized basement!!
Here are some pictures from Halloween and our ultrasound.

Weekend of pumpkins
We had a good time this weekend at the Greenfield Village Halloween festival. We don't have any pictures of Mason in his Kangaroo outfit, but we hope to get some from our friends (bad Mommy forgot the camera).
On Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch with Levity and Olivia and had a great time taking pictures.
On Sunday we went back to the patch with the Kochs, Barnetts, Clemonses, and Tarmooms. All the kids had a great time running around and Mason picked out his own pumpkin and bonded with Brandon on the wagon.
Mommy thinks it's time for another haircut.
Here are some pictures from this weekend, there are a lot though!!!

10 Months Old
Mason turned 10 months old yesterday!!! At his last appointment (about 3 weeks ago), he weighed 23 pounds (85%) and was 31.5 inches (99%) tall - which is way off the charts!!! We have a very tall boy on our hands. He now has 5 teeth (2 lower, 3 upper) and is working on his 6th tooth (the 4th on top). We now have to brush his teeth 2 times a day, he loves it and laughs, but not so much when we brush the top teeth.
We are practicing standing and purchased a new toy to help him stand. He's become a little more steady, but still likes scooting around on the floor the most.

As for our big announcement last time, in case you missed it, we're expecting #2 in April, the official due date is April 10 (which is also Aunt Katie's birthday!). I had an appointment yesterday where everything looks great and the heartbeat was in the 160's (my prediction is a girl, we'll see if I'm right). Our big ultrasound is November 4th where we'll find out boy or girl as long as the baby cooperates.
In the next couple weeks we are very busy going to the pumpkin patch, greenfield village trick-or-treating, maybe the zoo, and other fall festivals. Stay tuned for some fun and spooky pictures next time.

The Button's Came to Michigan
It's been a while since we updated. Mason is now 9 months old and scooting like crazy. He has 3 teeth (2 lower, 1 upper) and is working on 3 more we think. He has started to say the "na" word which is close to "ma"!
Aunt Katie, Uncle Chad, and Mya came to visit us in Michigan a couple weekends ago. It was a great weekend full of parties and fun! On Thursday night the Button's arrived and we had fun eating dinner and catching up on all of Mya and Mason's new adventures. We couldn't believe how much Mya has grown and were super excited to see her smile at us (she loves Michigan!)
On Friday night the Koch's and the Clemmonses came over for dinner and everyone got to meet Mya and the Clemmonses new baby, Harper. Daddy cooked a delicious dinner for all of us and we played the Wii - even Mrs. Thornton hula hooped!!!
On Saturday Mason had his first official photo shoot for an online t-shirt company. He did a great job and we are really excited that he is on the website. The shirts are fun too - check it out - www.lolliduds.com. Mason can be seen modeling the My Mommy Rocks, Save the Trees, and Lovin' Life shirts. Mya and her mommy and daddy went to her mommy's cousin's wedding - congrats Brad and Erin.
On Sunday Mya's cousins, Aunt, grandparents, and Great Grandma came over to meet Mason and so that we could meet Leah and Emme. All the kids played well together and it was fun seeing them - Mason looks a lot like Leah and Emme!!!! Grandma and Grandpa also came over to meet Mya, Leah, and Emme. Our house was full! Later that night Aunt Jackie came over to see the Button's again and have dinner, yummy stir fry that Daddy cooked (even though the ladies did all the chopping!). It was a lot of fun to see Mya, Aunt Katie, and Uncle Chad and we already miss them. We'll see them next summer, but we can't believe both kids will be walking!!
This past weekend it was Aunt Lee's Birthday - Happy Birthday Aunt Lee!!! Mason spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house and had a great time. Mom and Dad went to a movie and stayed up until midnight - wow - that hasn't happened in a long time. Sunday morning Grandma, Mom, and Mason went on a walk and then Mason and Mom shopped with Addisyn, Olivia, and Levity's mom's at the outlets for fall clothes.
Here is our slide show of pictures from the Button's visit. The last picture has a big announcement. Read the caption to see what it says. Also, if you can't see the pictures from the email that automatically sends, just log on to our webpage by clicking "The Jones Family" below or www.koriandbill.blogspot.com.

Mason's Firsts
Well, it was a weekend of Mason's firsts - his first Labor Day Weekend, his first haircut, his first UM football game, his first time in his ducky bath, and his first time SCOOTING across the floor!!! Mom and Dad are so proud of him.
On Friday Mason got his first haircut. He laughed and sat still through the whole thing. It was very exciting, but also a little sad that our little boy is growing up. Mom thought she could cut his hair herself, but after seeing all the technique used, she doesn't think that's a good idea. Luckily, we really like the woman who cut his hair and we'll return. However, he now gets pretty bad bed head. Then we went shopping for Mason's big boy bathtub, a blow up ducky that quacks when you squeeze the beak - it's pretty fun for everyone!
On Saturday, Mason watched the big UM game with his buddy Olivia and they both wore their new UM shirts. Too bad we lost, but there is always next week.
On Monday, Mason was showing off by scooting across the floor, he is very fast and loves the floor vent and power cord. It looks like we'll have to start childproofing (or Mason-proofing) and start using the dreaded "No" word.
Here are pics from this weekend and a video of Mason scooting!
